![]() Then they gently lower the tail end of mason's and whip it into a 'rag! love me some good old pigpen-era staples! even though some of the guitar melodies here felt a little muddy and less punchy than the spunk-spiked 'rags of the 60's, it was a DAMN treat to hear! the energy flows softly- nothing too crazy yet- and then they smooth it out with a gorgeous rendition of 'a day in the life.' talk about pleasant surprises! i loved the pep they popped right in the second set of melodies before the chorus. switching rhythms mid-'low spark' jam, the guys pave a smooth path into a slightly low-key but otherwise electric mason's. brief, cohesive, tightly knit between two gorgeous jams. it's bold, it's alive, it's fuckin' ready, and they spark that playin' with a space-y little twist! but it's the kind of space-y stuff even the "dude-that-space-y-shit's-weird" kinda heads can get into. their presence, their synchronistic energy. present.įrom the first notes of playin' you can feel their razor-focused intention and line-driving power reverberating throughout the audience. First: great recording! pretty crisp, focused, layered with their collective sound, only sprinkles of the audience occasionally dashing the outskirts of the recording.
